Cub Scouts
(Wolves are second graders, Bears are third graders)
work as a den and at home with their families to complete each program.  The Den Leader and Assistant Den Leader provide the meeting activities as they work toward earning their badges of rank, and Arrow Points.  Rank requirements are similar, but appropriate to the respective ages.  Cub Scouts take turns being Denners and Assistant Denners.  A Boy Scout from a local Troop serves as Den Chief.
Arrow of Light:
Highest rank in Cub Scouting
and the only badge that carries over to the Boy Scout uniform.
Cubs promote to the next rank each year, whether or not the badge of rank is earned.  Cub scouts are ages 7-10.
Boy Scouts are structured differently.  Each badge of rank must be earned before proceeding to the next, regardless of the Scout's age upon joining.  Boy Scouts are ages 10-18.

Cub Scout Leaders
These are Dens.  Together, they form a Pack.
All Cubs begin with earning the Bobcat rank, then the rank of their grade/age.
"Cub Scouts" refers to the entire program, as all these ranks are considered Cubs.
However, the program is divided into three main and differently structured sections:
Tiger Cubs
(first graders)
have a registered Adult Partner and they complete the program together as a team.  Each team takes a turn providing meeting activities.  The Den Leader serves as an organizer and record-keeper.  There is no Assistant Den Leader, as the Adult Partners assume this role together.
Webelos
(fourth and fifth graders)
are gearing up for Boy Scouts.  Like Cub Scouts, Webelos are Leader-, Chief-, and Denner-led, but after earning their badge of rank, Webelos work toward the honored Arrow of Light.

The Path to Eagle

These are the ranks of Scouting, from the littlest Tiger Cub to the mightiest Eagle Scout.
Boy Scouts
Eagle must be earned by a Scout's 18th birthday.  He will always carry the rank of Eagle Scout.
As an adult, he may wish to register as an Adult Leader, or continue to age 21 in Venturing.
